The RE4 generation of CR-Vs are powered by a K24 2.4L DOHC iVTEC 4cylinder engine with a timing chain; which is a great workhorse! The 5speed auto transmission is smooth, and handles speed nicely. They are a predominately front wheel drive car, but when the dual pump rear diff detects a pressure change/traction loss from the front wheels then the back wheels are engaged. These cars handle our 4 seasons very well and make excellent daily driver vehicles.
